Paneer Aloo Kofta

Ingredients to make Paneer Aloo Kofta

  • 300 gms paneer
  • 3 boiled aloo/potatoes
  • 4 tomatoes big sized
  • 3 onions big sized
  • Haldi/ turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Mirch/ red chilli powder 2 tsp
  • Garam masala/ Curry powder 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying
  • cornflour 1 tbsp
  • cashews and Raisins 1/4 cup

How to make Paneer Aloo Kofta

  1. Grate the paneer well. Keep aside.
  2. Boil the potatoes in a pressure cooker till it's soft. Once cooked, mash the potatoes along with the paneer and mix it well to form a dough.
  3. Next add 1 tbsp of cornflour powder, then take some portion of the dough and flatten it. Place the nuts in the centre and make a ball shape.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. (It should be very hot.)
  5. Roll each kofta in the cornflour powder first, then fry these koftas till they turn golden brown in colour.
  6. Chop the tomatoes and onion and blend them together in a mixer to make a paste.
  7. Heat a separate pan with some oil. Then fry the tomato and onion mixture in it. Add the masala and salt, let it fry for 15 mins.
  8. Finally add the koftas to this mixture after turning off the heat.
  9. Garnish with grated paneer and serve.

My Tip:

If the oil is not hot enough the koftas will break, so make sure the oil is hot.
