Green Moong Dal Paratha

Ingredients to make Green Moong Dal Paratha

  • 1/2 cup green full (akkha) moong dal
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 3 tsp finely chopped corainder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • salt as per taste
  • For dough - 2 cups wheat flour
  • salt as per taste
  • water as required to prepare a dough

How to make Green Moong Dal Paratha

  1. Soak moong dal in water for 4 to 5 hours (preferably overnight).
  2. In morning, wash moong dal with water and then cook it in a pressure cooker (2 whistles). Let it cool down
  3. Take 2 cups of wheat flour and add water so as to prepare a dough and keep it aside.
  4. Now, take boiled green moong dal in a bowl, add red chilli powder, chopped corainder, chat masala and salt. Mix well
  5. Prepare a small balls of a dough. Take one ball and stuff it with moong dal mixture
  6. Now, divide the atta dough into 6 equal portions. Take one ball each and flatten it and apply some ghee on it.
  7. Place the stuffing mixture in the centre and bring the edges together to form a ball. Now flatten it with rolling pin and place it over on a heated tawa and after 30 seconds turn it over and spread some ghee around it.
  8. Turn over again and spread some more ghee on the other side of the parantha. Cook both sides, until they are well cooked.
  9. Enjoy with curd ( you can add 2 pinches of black pepper and a pinch of salt to it)
