Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1cup green moong dal
  2. Salt
  3. 1/4tsp jeera [cumin seeds]
  4. 1 onion
  5. 1 tomato
  6. 1 tsp chopped ginger
  7. 1/4 th tsp turmeric powder
  8. 1dry red chilli
  9. 2 tsp oil or ghee


  1. Soak the dal for 10 minutes.
  2. Put it in a cooker with salt and turmeric powder
  3. After 1 whistle ,simmer it for 10 minutes.
  4. Check it
  5. Now add tempering
  6. Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds
  7. Now add dry red chilly, onion, tomato and ginger.
  8. Saute it well
  9. Now pour the tempering in dal and cover it.
  10. Add green chilli
  11. Serve with chapati.
