Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup soaked whole green moong dal
  2. 1 tsp ginger paste
  3. 1 tsp green chilli paste
  4. 1 tbsp curd
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. Lemon juice 2 tsp
  7. Fruit salt 1 tsp
  8. For tempering - 1 tsp mustard seeds
  9. 1 tsp sesame seeds
  10. 3-4 curry leaves
  11. 2-3 green chilli split
  12. Oil for cooking


  1. First soaked green moong dal for about 3 hours . Wash and drain all the water .
  2. Now grind soaked moong dal in a mixer grinder and make fine paste .
  3. Now add curd ,ginger green chilli paste, lemon juice,salt as per taste and 1 tsp oil . Mix all ingredients well . Meanwhile grease the Thali or pot . Now add eno salt to the dal batter. Mix well and immediately to the greased Thali.
  4. Steam this about 15 minutes. Turn off the gas . Cut dhokla into desired shape .
  5. Now for tempering in a pan take 2 tsp oil , add mustard seeds and sesame seeds . when seeds starts crackle add curry leaves and split green chillies . Now add dhokla pieces into this and cook for 2 minutes. Saute it well . Whole green moong dal dhokla is ready . Serve hot with green chutney .
