Potato Masala

Ingredients to make Potato Masala

  • potato - 3, large, boiled and mashed
  • onions - 2, finely chopped
  • green chillies - 4-5, finely chopped
  • ginger, finely chopped - 2tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • salt - to taste
  • curry leaves - a few
  • mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Channa dhal - 1 tsp
  • oil - 1 tbsp

How to make Potato Masala

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, channa dhal and let them crackle.
  2. Add the ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, onions and sautee for a minute.
  3. Add the turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Add a cup of water and bring it to a boil.
  5. Once it begins to boil, add the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  6. Let it simmer for a minute or two.
  7. Serve hot with dosa or poori.
