ABOUT Broken Wheat Halwa RECIPE

A very easy recipe with a healthy combination of broken Wheat and Jaggery. Rich in fibre, vitamins and minerals. Adding of roasted nuts and raisins makes it more richer and tastier.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Broken Wheat 1 cup
  2. Jaggery 1/2 cup grated finely
  3. Ghee 1/4 cup
  4. Cardamom Powder 1/4 tsp
  5. Milk 1 cup
  6. Raisins 2 tsp
  7. Cashewnuts broken 2 tsp
  8. Almond chopped 2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Pressure the broken Wheat with milk for 5 mins. Let the pressure release by itself.
  2. In a pan add 2 tsp ofghee.
  3. Addthecashew nuts and almond and frytill golden brown in color, remove and keep aside.
  4. Now add the raisins and fry for 2-3 secs, remove and keep along with the nuts.
  5. In the same pan heat the remaining ghee.
  6. Add the cooked broken Wheat, cardamon powder, grated Jaggery, half of the nuts and raisins and mix well.
  7. Continue to cook stirring continuously for around 5-10 till the ghee separates from the sides.
  8. Take off the flame. Garnish with the remaining nuts and raisins on top and serve.
