Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups mixed sprouts
  2. I tbsp tamarind pulp
  3. I medium sized potato chopped finely
  4. I tomato chopped
  5. 12 tbsp red chili powder
  6. Two pinches of hing
  7. I tbsp cumin seed
  8. 1 tbsp mustard seed
  9. 10 -12 curry leaves
  10. 1-2 onion chopped finely
  11. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  12. 1 tbsp goda masala
  13. 1 tbsp coriander powder
  14. 1 tbsp Garam Masala
  15. 2 cups water as required
  16. 1 tbsp sugar
  17. Salt as taste
  18. For garnish 1 onion chopped finely
  19. Few chopped coriander
  20. 1 cup mixed farsan
  21. Few lime wedges
  22. Pav as required


  1. Rinse the mixed sprouts in a vessel with water and drain the water. Put the sprouts in the cooker along diced potatoes, tomatoes,turmeric powder,red chili powder salt and a pinch of hing.
  2. Pressure cook the mixed sprouts up to 3 whistles with 3 cup of water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan add mustard sees cumin seed and let them crackle and add curry leaves with pinch of hing.
  4. Saut onion until it changes into light brown add sugar and salt put ginger garlic paste and cook for 1 minute add all dry spices . Mix all well.
  5. Add tamarind pulp into the pan and cook for 2 minutes now add the boiled sprouts into the pan.
  6. Simmer it for 5 minutes.
  7. Assembling butter the pav on each side .pour the sprouts gravy into the bowl and sprinkle it with mixed farsan chopped onion coriander and lime wedges and serve with butter pav.
