Ingredients to make Oats upma

  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 tsp oil
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped french beans
  • Sprig of curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seed
  • 1 Tsp cumin seed
  • 1 tsp urad and chana dal
  • 1/2 tsp ginger finely chopped
  • 1 green chili chopped
  • Sprig of coriander leaves
  • 1 Cup water
  • salt as taste
  • Crushed peanuts

How to make Oats upma

  1. In a pan heat oil add mustard seed and zeera and saut them till they crackle.
  2. Add chana dal and urad dal stir till it get browned.
  3. Add onion ginger green chillies and curry leaves and saut for a minute.
  4. Then add all the vegetables and stir for 2 minutes.
  5. Then add water cover the pan and cook it for 5 minutes.
  6. Then add oats . Stir lightly add salt as required. Let it cook for another 2 minute on a low flame.
  7. Garnish it with coriander leaves and crushed peanuts.

My Tip:

Peanuts are optional.
