Ingredients to make Moong daal kachori

  • Ingredients : 250gms white flour or maida
  • dough 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds) salt to taste for filling 100 gms yellow moong daal (soaked for 2-3 hours ) 1 tbsp gram flour 1 tsp coriander seeds 1 tbsp fennel seed powder 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp green chillies ( fine chopped) 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 2 tbsp green coriander (chopped)

How to make Moong daal kachori

  1. mix salt,oil (for dough) in maida and knead a semi soft dough using enough water,knead very well
  2. for 5-10 minutes and keep covered
  3. With wet muslin cloth for filling
  4. 2. grind the soaked moong dal into coarse paste.
  5. 3. heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. add a pinch of Asafoetida,coriander seeds,fennel seed powder (saunf).
  6. 4. allow it to splutter,add green chillies and ground moong dal, turmeric powder,garam masala, amchur powder and salt. spinkle gram flour.
  7. 5.mix n saute the mixture until it becomes dry. keep it aside.
  8. preparing kachories 6. divide the dough into equal portion balls roll out each portion into circle
  9. 7. place one tsp of the filling mixture in the centre of the dough. lift the edges of the dough and bring together to seal the filling tightly. gently flatten the filled balls and rest it for few minutes. complete with rest of the dough.
  10. cooking 8.deep fry the kachories in hot oil on a slow flame till golden brown on both sides. kachories should puff up like puries. Cool and store in an air tight container.

My Tip:

Dough and stuffing should be soft.
