How to make Chocolate Cake

  1. I took a large bowl and whisked all the dry ingredients together. (Sugar, Flour, Cocoa powder, Baking powder, Baking soda and Salt)
  2. In a separate bowl I whisked all the wet ingredients. (Eggs, Coffee, Milk, Oil and vanilla extract)
  3. Next I mixed the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients slowly folding in one direction, combine well.
  4. Now pour the cake batter in the cake tin and bake for about 27 - 32 minutes at 200 degree celsius.
  5. When baked, remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes.
  6. For the Chocolate Frosting: Melt the chocolate in a bowl placed over simmering water. Keep aside to cool.
  7. Take a bowl and beat the butter until smooth and creamy it take about 1 minute with an electric beater.
  8. Add in the sugar and vanilla extract and beat till it is light and fluffy.
  9. Slowly add in the melted chocolate and beat until all are mixed well.
  10. Beat until frosting is smooth and glossy. (You can change the speed of the hand blender)
  11. Pour the icing in an icing bag and decorate as you wish. I made flowers all over the cake.

My Tip:

Use oil instead of butter. Prevents cake from getting hard when kept in the fridge.
