Chocolate Meringues

Ingredients to make Chocolate Meringues

  • egg whites - 3
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • Cocoa powder - 2 tbsp
  • vanilla extract - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 th tsp

How to make Chocolate Meringues

  1. Whisk the egg whites and add the sugar.
  2. Now pour this mixture into a metallic container, and heat it using a double boiler (another saucepan with simmering hot water).
  3. Keep stirring and heat till sugar is melted.
  4. Remove it from heat and transfer into another bowl, and whisk using an electric whisk, for 5-6 minutes.
  5. Add the vanilla extract, salt and whisk till hard peaks are formed.
  6. Now fold in the cocoa powder into the batter.
  7. Pipe this using a piping bag on a baking tray lined with butter paper.
  8. Bake at 100 degree celcius, in a preheated oven for 1 hour.
  9. Cool and serve.
