ABOUT Rava Kesari RECIPE

South Indian dessert made from rava. Easy to prepare in pressure cooker with no lumps.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rava - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 2 cups
  3. Water - 3 Cups
  4. Cardamom 8 nos
  5. Cashew nuts 10 nos
  6. Tumeric powder - a pinch
  7. ghee as required

Instructions

  1. In a pressure cooker, pour 3 cups of water, cardamom and a pinch of turmeric powder and let it boil on a medium flame.
  2. Take a Kadai, pour ghee and roast the cashew nuts and keep aside.
  3. In the same Kadai, pour ghee and roast the rava on a medium flame for 10 mins.
  4. Then add the cashew and roasted rava little by little and stir well for 2 mins.
  5. Then switch off the stove and close and cooker with weight. Leave it for 20 mins.
  6. Open the cooker and transfer it to another vessel.
