ABOUT Rava Kesari Barfi RECIPE

A rich fudge of sweetness made with rava and sugar.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Rava
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 1/2 cup water
  4. 1/2 cup Ghee
  5. 6-8 Cashews chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  7. 1/2 tsp Kesari color
  8. A few saffron strands


  1. Heat ghee in a pan, add rava. Stir fry over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and keep aside.
  3. Bring water to boil in the pan, add the fried rava gradually, stirring continously.
  4. Cook over low flame for 3-5 mins.
  5. Add sugar and the kesari color. Stir well to blend.
  6. Cook for 5 mins, making sure you dot let it stick to the pan.
  7. Grease a plate with ghee and pour the rava keasari mixture and spread evenly.
  8. Sliced into desired shape. Top with chopped cashews and a few saffron starnds.
  9. Let it cool and serve
