Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups sooji
  2. 2 cup curd
  3. 1 tsp sugar
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 tsp lemon
  6. eno for 1 cup sooji
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 1 tsp sesame seeds
  9. 1 tsp chopped green chillies
  10. 10-15 curry leaves
  11. Oil for tempering
  12. Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing


  1. Take sooji, curd and mix them well. Add some water to adjust consistency for a smooth batter. Add sugar and salt, set this batter aside for 2-3 hours.
  2. Grease moulds and put water for steaming. Divide the batter into equal portions. Take one portion and mix 1 tsp Eno salt and immediately pour the batter into moulds, repeat the process for subsequent lots.
  3. For tempering: heat 1 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, sesame seeds, curry leaves and green chillies till all of them crackle. Add dhoklas to this tempering evenly. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it hot with green chutney.
