ABOUT Oats and sooji dhokla sandwiches RECIPE

This dish went hit at my home when I firstly made this for my munchkin for his lunch box. Regularly i used to make normal sooji dhoklas but once i thought of experimenting with new ingredient like oats because spinach tomato purees are old now. So thought of adding oats in the sooji batter. It doesn't changes the colour or the taste of dhokla but makes it more nutritious. My health conscious family loved the new way of eating oats. And i gave a new look too by converting dhokla into sandwiches, and the new look impressed everyone one and loved by all.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. One cup sooji
  2. Half cup oats
  3. 1 and half cup curd
  4. 1/4,tbsp baking soda or eno
  5. Salt
  6. Two tbsp oil
  7. Half tbsp mustard seeds
  8. Half tbsp sesame seeds
  9. Chopped Coriander
  10. Chopped green chillies
  11. Green chutney for serving

Instructions

  1. Take sooji oats and curd in a bowl and make dhokla batter
  2. Add salt and one tbsp oil and beat until fluffy
  3. Now grease a dhokla plate. Add eno in the batter. Mix well and pour into the plate
  4. Steam it for 15 minutes or till done
  5. Now heat oil in tadka pan and add mustard seeds sesame seeds green chillies and pour it over the steamed dhokla. Rest it for few minutes
  6. Spread evenly all over the dhokla and sprinkle chopped coriander. Cut them into pieces
  7. Now cut the dhoklas horizontally across the centre. Spread green chutney on it. Cover it again and serve as shown in the pic
