A yummy home style egg biryani recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. eggs - 6
  2. onions 2
  3. Whole garam masala - 1 tbsp
  4. Shahi jeera- 1 tbsp
  5. ginger garlic paste each 1 tbsp
  6. Pudina and coriander leaves each one hand full
  7. jeera powder 1/2 tsp
  8. coriander powder 1 tbsp
  9. red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  10. garam masala powder 1 tsp
  11. Tumeric powder 1/2 tsp
  12. salt to taste
  13. one cup thick curd
  14. Slit green chilli 3
  15. oil 2 tbsp or as needed
  16. basmati rice 3 cups


  1. Soak basmati rice for 1 hour.
  2. Place a non stick kadai on the stove, add oil.
  3. Add all the whole garam masala in it along with shahi jeera.
  4. Next, add onions and saute until translucent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  6. Add slit green chillies, pudina and coriander leaves and saute well, keep it for 5 mins.
  7. Meanwhile, take a bowl, pour 1 cup of curd plus all spices (powders) in it and mix it well.
  8. Pour in the kadai, mix until raw smell of powder is gone.
  9. Now take the rice and put in the kadai and mix well.
  10. Add water and salt and close the lid.
  11. Keep flame on high for 5 to 7 mins. Then simmer it for 10 mins.
  12. Meanwhile, boil eggs before you start preparing your Biryani and cut into half.
  13. Place one small pan, pour some oil and put eggs one by one.
  14. Make sure eggs do not break. Add little salt and pepper on top of the eggs and pan fry it until crispy.
  15. Now add eggs to Biryani and mix well.
  16. Garnish with pudina and coriander leaves.
