Ingredients to make MAKKAN PEDA

  • 1 cup - maida
  • 1/2 cup - unsweetened khoya
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup - yogurt
  • few tablespoons of mixed nuts and dates for filling
  • oil for frying
  • 1 1/2 cup - sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup - water

How to make MAKKAN PEDA

  1. In a mixing add maida, khoya, baking soda and yogurt. knead it softly to make a smooth dough. Keep it aside for 15 - 20 minutes. Make lemon sized balls out of it.
  2. Put a teaspoon of the filling in each balls and shape it nicely. Deep fry them in hot oil and keep it aside.
  3. Now prepare the sugar syrup and soak the fried pedas in hot syrup for atleast 2 hours and serve.
