ABOUT Basmati Rice Kheer RECIPE

It's a traditional Indian Dessert made of Basmati rice. It can also be called a sweet rice pudding.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Broken Basmati Rice 1 tablespoon
  2. Milk 1 litre
  3. Condensed milk 1/2 can
  4. Ilaychi powder 1 tsp
  5. Pistachios 7-8
  6. Almonds 7-8
  7. Cashews 7-8

Instructions

  1. Soak the broken basmati rice for approximately 30 minutes.
  2. Bring the milk to a boil on a heavy bottomed pan. Once it boils, add in the soaked basmati rice. Keep it on a low flame and stir continuously.
  3. Once the rice is cooked and the milk is thick, add in the condensed milk. Cook for another 5 mins and add in the ilaychi powder.
  4. Then add all of the crushed nuts of your choice. Spare some for garnishing.
  5. After another 5 mins of cooking, take the kheer out of the flame and let it cool.
  6. Garnish it with the remaining nuts and few strands of saffron (optional).
  7. Serve it to your loved ones.
