Butter Muruku

Ingredients to make Butter Muruku

  • 2 cup rice flour
  • 2 tbsp split Bengal Gram dal ( kadala parupu )
  • 2 tbsp Roasted dal ( potukadalai / chutney dal )
  • butter 4 tbsp
  • cumin seed 1/2 tsp
  • salt to taste

How to make Butter Muruku

  1. In a pan, dry roast the began from and roasted dal.
  2. Powder them to very refined powder and sieve well to remove any coarse particles.
  3. In a wide vessel, add in the butter, salt, rice flour and mix well.
  4. Into this, add the grinder powder and again well until well combined.
  5. Add warm water into this mixture in very little portions until the dough is made soft and tender. But not sticky.
  6. Select the Muruku Press pattern.
  7. Heat up Oil and deep fry the dough by pressing them out from the Muruku Press pattern.

My Tip:

The more the butter, the more the lifetime of the crispiness of the muruku. As well the taste becomes superb.
