ABOUT Sarso ka saag RECIPE

This dish belongs to North India and is mostly cooked in winter season. It is really good and delicious. You can have with makki ki roti as well as atta roti or parantha too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Boiled sarso saag made into a puree 1 big bowl
  2. Onions finely chopped 2
  3. Tomatoes 3 pureed
  4. Green chilli 1-2 as per your taste
  5. Garlic chopped 7-8 cloves
  6. Ginger 1 inch
  7. Dry masala
  8. Hing 1/2 tsp
  9. Ghee for tadka
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  12. Coriander powder 1-1/2 tsp
  13. Sukha atta 2 to 3 tbsp


  1. Add ghee in kadhai and put hing. Saute for a while. Add garlic and saute until light brown. Saute ginger. Saute onions until light pink. Add chopped green chillies and tomato puree. Saute it until ghee leaves side.
  2. Now add all dry spices and saag puree. Mix it well with 2-3 tblspn of sukha atta. Now garnish with ghee or butter and green chilli.
