Penne pasta with fish balls

Ingredients to make Penne pasta with fish balls

  • Durum wheat Penne pasta 250g
  • garlic 5 clove, finely chopped
  • onion 1 medium, chopped
  • Green bell pepper 1, thinly sliced
  • Red bell pepper 1, thinly sliced
  • salt as per taste
  • pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  • Mixed herbs 1 teaspoon
  • chilly flakes 1 teaspoon
  • olive oil
  • butter 2 tbsp
  • For the fish balls and gravy
  • Fish 100g
  • onion 1 small, pureed
  • garlic paste 1 teaspoon
  • tomato puree 2 tablespoon
  • Mixed herbs 1 teaspoon
  • pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  • salt as per taste
  • olive oil 2 tbsp
  • Cheddar cheese 1/4 cup
  • Milk as required
  • Bread crumbs to coat
  • egg 1

How to make Penne pasta with fish balls

  1. Boil the fish for few minutes in boiling water. Once it cools remove the bones.
  2. Add little salt, pepper, dried herbs, garlic paste to the fish and form small balls. Dip them in egg and coat in bread crumbs. Then bake the fish at 160 degree for 20 minutes till they are nicely brown.
  3. For the sauce add Olive oil to a pan. To that add onion, garlic, tomato puree. Cook well. Add salt, pepper, mixed herbs. Add milk. Then add cheese. Cook for 2 minutes. Add the fish balls. If the gravy dries too much add more milk. Simmer for a minute and turn off the flame.
  4. For the pasta, boil the pasta as per the packet instruction. To a pan add Olive oil and butter. Add onion, garlic and saute for a while. Then add bell peppers. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Then add the pasta, seasoning and stir fry for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Serve it immediately with fish balls.

My Tip:

You can also deep fry the fish balls.
