Sweet Appam

Ingredients to make Sweet Appam

  • wheat flour 1cup
  • jaggery 1/2 cup
  • Cooking soda a pinch
  • Ripe banana 1
  • salt a pinch
  • Rice flour 2tbsp
  • cardamom 1

How to make Sweet Appam

  1. In a bowl, mix all the items mentioned in the list except jaggery
  2. Melt this jaggery and filter it.
  3. Add the jaggery and mix well.
  4. The batter should be of the same consistency as we make for vada
  5. Heat oil in a kadai and when the oil is hot enough, using a laddle you can pour the batter.
  6. Fry it under low heat and ensure uniform cooking.fry untill u get a golden brown colour.
  7. Drain the excess oil and enjoy your appam.

My Tip:

Banana gives additional softness and use coconut oil for deep frying.coconut oil gives additional taste and texture.
