ABOUT Orange Self Saucing Pudding RECIPE

I love oranges and it is my favourite fruit. I wanted to try some pudding with oranges and found this recipe online at a site. I modified the quantities a bit to suit my taste and need. Loved the end result. The pudding was so moist and sticky and with my favourite orange flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the pudding
  2. Maida/All purpose flour -1 and 1/4cups
  3. Baking powder -2 teaspoons
  4. Salt-1/4 teaspoon
  5. Brown sugar-1/2 cup
  6. egg-1
  7. Milk -1/2cup
  8. Butter(melted)-50grams
  9. Orange zest from two oranges
  10. Vanilla essence-2 teaspoons
  11. For the Sauce -
  12. Fine granulated sugar-1/4cup
  13. Cornflour -1teaspoon
  14. Fresh orange juice -1/2cup
  15. Boiling water-1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. First in a wide bowl sift in the flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add in the brown sugar and mix well.
  3. Add the orange zest and combine well.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the milk,melted butter,vanilla essence and egg.
  5. Add this milk mix to the flour mix and fold well with a spatula.
  6. Preheat the oven at 180deg C for ten minutes.
  7. Meanwhile grease four ramekins with butter.
  8. Divide the pudding mix between the ramekins.
  9. For the sauce first mix the sugar and cornflour in a small bowl.
  10. Sprinkle this mix over the pudding mix in the ramekins.
  11. Boil the water well and mix the orange juice with it.
  12. Pour this over each pudding mix before placing in oven.
  13. Bake in an oven for around 20 minutes till golden on top.
