Vegetable Uttapam

Ingredients to make Vegetable Uttapam

  • Suji 1cup
  • buttermilk 1 1/2 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • baking soda /khana soda 1/4 tsp
  • tomato finely chopped 1/4 cup
  • onion finely chopped 1/4 cup
  • Bell peppers or capsicum chopped 1/4 cup
  • carrot grated 1/4 cup
  • cabbage finely chopped 1/4 cup
  • green chilli 2-3 (chopped)
  • coriander 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Red chilli powder 1tsp
  • Sambhar masala 1tsp
  • oil for cooking

How to make Vegetable Uttapam

  1. Take suji in a bowl and add salt and buttermilk. Mix it well till it becomes a nice smooth better. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes
  2. Mix all your veggies in a bowl. Add salt and sambhar masala
  3. Heat up your non stick pan or you can also use your basic roti tawa.
  4. Add baking soda to the batter mix it well. Pour 1 big spoonful of batter on tawa and spread to make a round and thick uttapam
  5. Add veggies on the top of uttapam and sprinkle a pinch of red chilli powder and sambhar masala on top
  6. Add a little bit of oil for cooking. Cook from both sides. Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato sauce.

My Tip:

You can add or cut veggies as per your taste and requirement. Use sour buttermilk for a better taste
