Bread Barfi

Ingredients to make Bread Barfi

  • Soft bread crumbs 2 cups
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Grated coconut 1 cup
  • butter 2 tbsp
  • Red color as required
  • rose essence 2-3 drops
  • Chopped cashew nuts 20 (plus few halved to garnish)
  • sugar 1 cup

How to make Bread Barfi

  1. Soak bread crumbs in milk for about 10 min.
  2. Combine coconut and sugar ,stir over a low fire till the sugar melts.
  3. Add the soaked bread crumbs and stir till well mixed for about 5-7 min.
  4. Add chopped cashew nuts ,rose essence ,butter ,and cook till the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  5. Spread in to a greased baking tin and allow to cool .
  6. Cut in to desired shape and garnish with chopped cashew nuts and serve.
