Prawn Biryani

Ingredients to make Prawn Biryani

  • Basmati rice 300g
  • Prawn 300g
  • onion 2
  • tomato 2
  • ginger 30g
  • garlic 10-15 nos.
  • green chillies 3
  • cinnamon 2
  • clove 6
  • cardamom 4
  • oil required
  • salt required
  • turmeric as required
  • Biriyani Powder 1 tablespoon
  • chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  • curd 4 tablespoons

How to make Prawn Biryani

  1. Soak the rice for 30 mins
  2. Clean the prawns and marinate with a half teaspoon of turmeric, 1tablespoon ginger garlic paste, half teaspoon chili powder, salt,half lime juice. Keep it aside for one hour in the refrigerator.
  3. Grind ginger,green chillies, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves by adding little amount of water
  4. Grind garlic seperately
  5. Take a pressure cooker add oil. When oil is heated add ground ginger, chilli paste and saute for 2mins
  6. Add garlic paste and saute till it changes colour.
  7. Now add sliced onion and saute for 8-10 mins
  8. Add tomatoes,salt, biryani powder,chilli powder, turmeric powder and saute till oil seperates
  9. Add curd , prawns and mix well. Cover the lid and cook for 2 mins.
  10. Add mint ,coriander leaf and basmati rice and saute
  11. Add warm water(600ml).Close the lid . In medium flame cook for 20-25mins.
  12. Serve
