Fruity Sooji Halwa

Ingredients to make Fruity Sooji Halwa

  • Roasted sooji (rava) 1 cup
  • ghee 1/2 cup
  • sugar 3/4 cup
  • water 2 cups
  • raisins 1 handful
  • Broken cashew 1 handful
  • apple cored, skinned and chopped 1/2 cup
  • Pineapple chopped 1/2 cup
  • Ripe banana chopped 1/2 cup
  • ghee for frying 2 tbsp
  • pomegranate seeds 1/2 cup

How to make Fruity Sooji Halwa

  1. In a pan, heat the 1/2 cup ghee, add the sooji and fry till golden brown and a nice aroma is felt
  2. Add the water and sugar. Boil.
  3. When still in runny consistency, add the chopped apples, pineapples and banana. Mix well.
  4. Once the halwa starts leaving the sides, turn off the gas/heat.
  5. In a small pan, heat the 2 tbsp of ghee. Add the cashews and fry till golden. Add the raisins and remove from heat
  6. Pour over the halwa. Add the pomegranate seeds. Mix well and serve.

My Tip:

You can make this with single or multiple fruits. Also, cardamom powder/essences can be added for different flavours.
