ABOUT Yummy Orange Chicken ( A Tangy Treat) RECIPE

I had eaten it the first time during my US trip and fell in love with it. I make it in every season of Oranges by trying the recipe in different way. So presenting one which I liked most. My Son had 4 bowls even he came home

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. chicken Breast. 400 grms.( one).
  2. curd 1 tbsp
  3. ginger grated 2 tsp
  4. Salt, turmeric to taste.
  5. Orange juice 100 ml.
  6. Orange zest of 1 fresh orange
  7. lemon Zest of 1 fresh lemon
  8. lemon juice 1/4 th cup.
  9. Soya sauce 1tbsp
  10. Apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp
  11. Brown sugar 1 cup
  12. all purpose flour 3 tbsp
  13. Corn flour 1 tsp
  14. Red chilli flakes 1/2 tsp
  15. pepper 1 tsp
  16. garlic crushed 1 tsp
  17. onion 1
  18. Spring onions Chopped 1tbsp
  19. coriander leaves finely chopped 1 tsp
  20. water as required
  21. olive oil for frying. ( 3/4 cup ).

Instructions

  1. Marinate Chicken breast with Salt, Turmeric, 1 tsp Ginger grated and 1 tbsp curd for half an hour. Keep in fridge.
  2. Cook the brest to 4 to 5 whistles according to the size of pieces taking care not to overcook .Cut the Breast in pieces of half inch.
  3. Heat 1 cup water. Add lime juice, Soya sauce, Apple cider vinegar, Brown Sugar, rest 1 tsp Ginger and Garlic.
  4. Let the Sauce cool. Take some Sauce in a Zip lock bag and add cooked chicken pieces in it taking care to cover all the pieces with sauce. Let it Soak for 2 hrs. Can put in fridge.
  5. Make slurry of All purpose flour and corn flour. Add salt , pepper.
  6. Heat Olive oil and fry marinated Chicken breast Pieces. Transfer on absorbent paper towel.
  7. Heat oil ( 1 tsp ) . Fry onion. Add rest Sauce and add corn flour mixed in water. Let it boil a little with Orange and Lemon Zest.
  8. Serve the fried chicken pieces in a bowl, Spread Sauce over it and enjoy the tangy Chicken. Garnish with Chopped Spring onions and Coriander leaves.
