ABOUT Fat Free Dahi Vada RECIPE

Dahi vada is a rich source of protein and very yummy too. Enjoy this non-fried version of Dahi vada.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1/2 Cup split yellow gram
  2. 1-2 Green chili
  3. 1/2 tsp Salt
  4. 2 Cup salted buttermilk
  5. 1/2 tsp Oil for greasing
  6. 2 Cup thick curd
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Roasted cumin seeds
  9. Mint leaves for decoration

Instructions

  1. Soak the dal in warm water for at least 1 hour.
  2. Drain out most of the water and grind it to a smooth paste in a blender along with the chilies and salt. Mix well.
  3. Pour 2 tablespoons of the batter into 8 small greased microwave safe bowls.
  4. Put 4 bowls in the microwave in each batch for 1 minute and 15 seconds.
  5. Remove and allow it to cool completely.
  6. Soak them in salted buttermilk for few minutes, till they are soft.
  7. Drain and squeeze out the excess water.
  8. Whisk the curd with the milk and salt and pour over the soaked vadas.
  9. Sprinkle some roasted cumin seeds and decorate with mint leaves.
