ABOUT Rava ladoo using condensed milk RECIPE

Rava ladoo is a quick and easy sweet made with condensed milk, fresh coconut, fine rava and ghee. In this recipe I have added both sugar and condensed milk for sweetness. To get the best texture and taste, you have to roast the rava very well.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 3 cups fine rava
  2. 1 cup fesh grated coconut
  3. 1/2 tin or 200g amul mithai mate
  4. 1.5 cups sugar
  5. 6 to 10 tbsp ghee
  6. 15 broken cashew nuts
  7. 10 raisins
  8. 2 Tsp Cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 tsp of ghee in a heavy bottomed pan or non stick kadai and add the grated coconut, broken cashew nuts and raisins. Stir often and roast on a low flame till the cashew nuts and coconut change its colour. Then transfer it to a plate.
  2. In the same kadai, add 6 to 8 tbsp of ghee and add the rava to it. Roast the rava on a low flame till the rava becomes fragrant. It will take around 7 to 9 minutes. You have to roast the rava well. No need to brown them. Transfer it to a plate.
  3. Then add 1.5 cups sugar and 1/4 cup of water. Boil till you get one string consistency.
  4. When you get the one string consistency, add the roasted rava, roasted coconut, cardamom powder, roasted cashew nuts and raisins. Stir it continuously to avoid lumps. Then add the condensed milk slowly and stir it continuously. Reduce the flame to low and mix everything well until it leaves the sides of the kadai.
  5. Transfer them to a wide bowl. When it is warm enough to handle, take small portions of it and make laddus. After preparing all the laddus once again shape the laddus tightly and store it in an airtight container.
