This yummy yet nutritious indianized quesadilla is perfect for kids snacks. My little one loves this dish too.It s a yummy one dish packed with protein.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For pesarattu
  2. Green whole mung dal - 1cup
  3. Boiled rice - 4tbsp
  4. Green chili - 1-2
  5. Ginger - 1/2 inch stick ,roughly chopped
  6. For chicken filling
  7. Chicken- 600gms cut into small cubes
  8. Onion - 1 ,finely chopped
  9. Tomato - 1 ,medium ,chopped
  10. Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
  11. Garlic paste -1tsp
  12. Salt - As required
  13. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  14. Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
  15. Coriander Powder - 1tsp
  16. Black pepper -1tsp
  17. Oregano - 1/2 tsp
  18. Chili flacks - 1/2 tsp
  19. Red bellpepper - 1 chopped
  20. Green bellpepper - 1chopped
  21. Mozzarella cheese - 8tbsp or as required


  1. Soak mung dal and rice separately for 8hrs or overnight.
  2. Then drain water.put mung dal and rice in blender along with ginger and green chili. Blend till smooth.
  3. Pour it in a bowl .make a semi thick batter..Add salt to taste .mix well.keep aside.
  4. Now heat a pan .Add 2 tbsp oil .Add onion .saute till light brown. Then add ginger ,garlic paste. Stir it for a minute.
  5. Then chicken ,tomato,turmeric, coriander powder, salt to taste and sugar .mix well everything. Turn down flame .simmer it for 10mins or till chicken cooked well.
  6. Then add red and green bellpepper .mix well .again cover it for 2 mins.
  7. Add oregano and chili flakes. Mix well.if chicken seems too dry ,sprinkle some water. Ready chicken filling. Keep a side
  8. Now a heat a tawa. Add 1/2 tsp oil.spread oil.Pour one laddle full dal batter centre of the hot tawa.
  9. Spread it in a circular motion from the centre to outside of tawa .cover it for a minute.
  10. Spread chicken filling one side of the pesarattu then spread chesse. Then cover chicken filling to close the opposite wing of pesarattu. Cut it from middle.
  11. Fry both sides properly. .Ready protein pack pesarattu chicken quesadilla. Serve hot. Sprinkle some grated cheese over pesarattu quesadilla when serve.
