This is a mixed dal made with 2 types of dal, this goes very well with rice or roti.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Masoor dal - 1/2 cup
  2. Black daal - 1/2 cup
  3. Onion - 1 [chopped]
  4. Tomatoes - 2 [chopped]
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  6. Green chilly 2
  7. Salt
  8. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  9. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  10. Desi ghee 2 tbsp
  11. Coriander leaves [handful]
  12. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Boil both the dals together along with turmeric powder, red chilly powder and little salt. This will take about 40 minutes.
  2. Now heat a wok with some ghee, once it is heated , add the cumin seeds and ginger garlic paste. Once they smell, add the chopped onion and saute till golden brown.
  3. Then add the tomatoes, green chillies and little salt, cook the tadka leaves oil. Add this tadka to the boiled dal and cook for sometimes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
