ABOUT Prawn Kofta Curry RECIPE

Our Kokani speciality and delicacy Prawn Kofta is a delicious,palatable and most in demand dish.Our special kokani fish masala ground for gravy makes it different from other gravies.Lovely fried onions/birrishta is added to kofta paste too and the gravy as well.True delicacy must try.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. FOR KOFTA:250 grams Small fresh Prawns deveined
  2. 1 tblspn ginger garlic paste
  3. 1 tblspoon dehydrated Onions (for birrishta)
  4. 1 1/2 tblspoon Besan/grams flour
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tspn red chilli powder
  7. 1 /2 tspn garam masala
  8. 1/2 tspn jeera powder
  9. Fine chopped corriander leaves
  10. Oil to deep fry
  11. FOR Gravy /Curry asap : 3 medium onions
  12. 2 -3 large tomatoes
  13. 1 tblspn ginger garlic paste
  14. 2-3 tblspn Oil for gravy / curry
  15. Salt to taste
  16. 1 tspn roasted cummin powder
  17. 1 Corriander powder
  18. 1-2 tspn red chillies powder(as per taste )
  19. 1 tspn Garam Masala
  20. A star anise
  21. Corriander to garnish
  22. If not using dehydrated onions for birrishta take 3onions extra chopped fine to get and make birrishta. Ready birrishta available too

Instructions

  1. Wash devein and squeeze Water off the clear Prawns (Can use frozen prawns too)
  2. Grind the cleaned prawns,removing water well, in mixer grinder
  3. Now heat oil in kadai , add dehydrated onions fry into birrishta and add crushed birrishta to ground prawns
  4. Add all seasoning and besan to the ground prawns
  5. Mix well
  6. Grease your had a little mix the seasoning well and form kofta ready to fry
  7. Heat oil again to deep fry these koftas
  8. Fry golden brown and keep aside
  9. For the curry :
  10. Now grind chopped onions and tomatoes separately to make curry
  11. Heat oil to cook curry, in a deep pot and add the ground onions to saute fry well
  12. Add salt turmeric and ginger garlic paste after onions half done
  13. Grind tomatoes to a paste too.
  14. Well saute and roast onion tomatoes and season with all spices stir fry masala well
  15. As oil leaves side and masala gets roasted add water as per quantity of gravy or curry required. Now bring to boil well and add kofta balls and simmer for 5-10minutes. Serve hot garnished with corriander with steamed rice or Rice Rotis

Something very different. Liked it. But can't make. Allergic to prawns. :cry::cry::cry:
