Raw turmeric is mostly used in winters. It is used to cure cold and cough. It also cures joint pains or any type of body pain. It also helps to build immunity.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour : 1 cup
  2. Besan : 1/2 cup
  3. Raw turmeric / kachi haldi : 1 cup (washed, drained, peeled and grated)
  4. Elaichi piwder : 1 tsp
  5. Almonds : 3 tbsp chopoed
  6. Pista : 3 tbsp chopped
  7. Raisins : 3 tbsp
  8. Jaggery / shakker : 1-1/4 cup grated
  9. Unsalted butter : 100 g

Instructions

  1. Wash, drain, peel and grate raw turmeric. Keep aside. In a heavy bottom wok dry roast wheat flour till light golden. Now add besan mix and roast till golden. Transfer it to a plate and keep aside. Now in the same empty wok add butter. Melt it on slow flame.
  2. Add nuts and roast them transfer them to a plate and keep aside.
  3. Now in leftover butter add grated raw turmeric and roast it till golden on medium high flame.
  4. Slow the flame and add roasted wheat flour, besan, elaichi powder and roasted nuts mix well.
  5. Now add jaggery and mix very well on slow flame for 1-2 min. Switch off the flame. Cool down.
  6. Transfer to an air tight jar. Stays good for 2 months. No need to keep in the fridge. Have it with a glass of milk tastes really good.
