Its a traditional maharashtrian recipe known as gharge, easy to make as wel as easy to store, perfect for your 4 o' clock snacks..

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Grated pumpkin 1 cup
  3. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  4. Ghee 2 tsp
  5. Salt a pinch
  6. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Take pumpkin, peel & grate it removing all seeds.
  2. In a non- stick pan, add ghee to this add grated pumpkin & cook properly.
  3. To this add jaggery & keep stirring till it mixes properly.
  4. Let it cool for sometime & add a pinch of salt, stir properly.
  5. To this add wheat flour, knead properly to form a soft dough, remember not to use any water for mixing.
  6. Cover this dough for 10 mins.
  7. Make small balls of dough & roll flat to form pooris.
  8. Heat oil in a kadhai, fry this pooris on medium flame evenly from both sides till u get golden brown colour.
  9. At first pooris may be soggy, but they will be crispy after some time.
  10. Serve with tea or spicy achaar..
