Soya Chunks Biryani

Ingredients to make Soya Chunks Biryani

  • Long grain basmathi rice- 4 cups
  • water-6 cups
  • salt- as per our taste
  • turmeric- 1 tsp
  • Chill powder- 3 tsp
  • Channa masala powder- 2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • cloves-10
  • cinnamon stick- 1 inch
  • Soya chunks- half cup ( boiled in salt water and squeezed)
  • cardamom- 3
  • ghee-3 tbsp
  • oil-3 tbsp
  • onions-2
  • tomatoes- 4
  • green chillies- 5
  • Vegetable of our choice like carrot, potato, peas- 2 cups
  • mint- 1 bunch
  • ginger garlic paste- 2 tbsp
  • lemon-1
  • yogurt- 2 tbsp

How to make Soya Chunks Biryani

  1. Wash and soak basmati rice in water for 30 mins in the rice cooker and switch on after 30 mins.( with spices, salt, oil)
  2. In the mean while, heat a non stick pan and add ghee and oil and add all spices
  3. Add onions and fry for 5 mins and add ginger garlic paste for 5 mins and then add mint leaves
  4. Add all veggies , salt, turmeric, chilli powder, Channa masala, garam masala and cook for 20 minutes.
  5. Add beaten yogurt to it and cook for 10 mins.
  6. Now add cooked basmathi rice to it and sprinkle coriander, food colour and lemon juice and close lid very tightly.
  7. Let it cook in very slow flame for 10 minutes and mix it very gently without breaking the rice.
  8. Soya biriyani is ready to serve
