Ingredients to make Kalakand

  • paneer - 250 gm (Preferably homemade)
  • Condensed milk - 1 tin (400 gm)
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/4 th cup
  • Milk powder - 2 tbsp
  • elaichi powder - 1 tsp
  • Chopped pistachios (for garnishing)

How to make Kalakand

  1. Grate the Paneer and mix it with milk powder and condensed milk, in a heavy bottomed kadhai.
  2. Heat this mixture and continuously keep stirring.
  3. Once the mixture gets a bit thick, add the milk and sugar.
  4. Keep stirring while the mixture cooks on a low flame.
  5. Add the elaichi powder and mix. Keep cooking the mixture until it leaves the sides of the kadhai and thick enough.
  6. Pour it into a greased tin or utensil, and garnish it with chopped pistachios.
  7. Let it cool and cut it into pieces .
