Ingredients to make Beetroot Veg

  • 1 medium sized beetroot
  • 1 medium sized onion (same amount of beetroot)
  • 5-6 curry leaves
  • 2 teaspoon oil
  • A pinch of Hing (asafoetida)
  • 1 pinch turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon dry coconut powder
  • salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing

How to make Beetroot Veg

  1. Cut beetroot , onion , curry leaves into very small square shaped pieces.
  2. Heat up the oil in the pan. Saute Hing, cumin seeds for a while. Then mix all the vegetables in medium low flame
  3. Add all the spices and salt and close the lid
  4. Once it's almost ready, mix dry coconut powder and roast for a few minutes
  5. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving it

My Tip:

Dry coconut powder is optional.
