This is a traditional sweet rice enjoyed in many parts of India and Pakistan. I have given a sensational twist to it with bits of gulab jamuns, khoya/mawa and rasgullas along with enormous amounts of dry fruits. You can even garnish this exquisite dish with whole rasgullas and gulab jaamuns.

Soak the rice for 30 mins.
Cook until done, keep it aside. See to it that the grains remain intact and not broken
In a non stick pot, heat the ghee, add the whole masalas. Saute them for a minute. Add the rice and the sugar now. Cover and let it cook until the sugar mixes and gives it a shiny gloss.
If using colour, then divide the rice as per the different colours, and then mix all after done.
If not using colour, just add a few strands of saffron.
Garnish with dry fruits, bits of rasgullas and gulab jamuns. However these are optional.
Serve it hot or cold. Tastes equally yummy.
