Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For dough -
  2. Suji 3 cups
  3. Atta 1 cup
  4. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  5. Salt 1/2 tsp
  6. Bay leaf 1
  7. Water 2 cups
  8. For filling -
  9. Chena 2 cups
  10. Cardamom 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Jaggery 1 cup
  12. Black pepper powder 1/4 th teaspoon
  13. Jaggery
  14. Khoya 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick pan boil water,jaggery and bay leaf.
  2. Then mix suji and atta and put into that boiling water. Stir slightly and when water evaporates, take out from gas and cover it for 10 minutes.
  3. When it cools, make a dough as we do for roti. Keep it aside.
  4. To make filling simply add chena, jaggery and khoya into a hot pan. Slightly fry it for a while to evaporate the moisture. Then add elaichi powder and black pepper powder.
  5. Divide the dough into small portions. Take 1 part and put some filling in it and give different shapes to the dough.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Put all kakaras in this oil and fry it till the kakaras become dark brown.
  7. Serve hot or cold
