ABOUT Chocolate Marble Cake (Vegan) RECIPE

Moist, chocolaty and delicious yet guilt free easy to bake cake that makes a great snack cake. It is also an excellent dessert cake when served with ice cream, chocolate sauce or whipped cream.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For Chocolate Batter -
  2. 1 cups All-Purpose flour
  3. 1 cup sugar (powdered)
  4. 1/3 cup cocoa (pass through a sieve to remove the lumps )
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 teaspoon coffee powder
  7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  9. 1 tablespoon vinegar
  10. 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  11. 1 cup warm water
  12. For the Vanilla Batter -
  13. 1 cups all-purpose flour
  14. Rest of the ingredients same as above minus the cocoa and coffee

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease and line the bottom and sides of one 8 inch round cake pan.
  2. Prepare the batters in two different pans. Whisk together all the dry ingredients.
  3. Make a well in the center of the pan. Pour in vanilla essence, oil, water and vinegar. Stir everything with a fork until the ingredients are well blended.
  4. Pour the batter alternately into the prepared cake pan starting with vanilla batter in four rounds.
  5. Bake for 40 to 45 mins. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven after 5 minutes. Remove from the pan after another 5 mins. Cool in the rack.
  7. Slice next day or even later. The cake slices well and the flavours develop fully. Serve with ice cream or chocolate sauce as dessert.
