Ingredients to make Sarkkara varatti

  • Raw plantain - 3 Nos
  • jaggery - 1/3 cup
  • Powder sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • Dried ginger powder - 1/2 tsp
  • cardamom powder -1/2 tsp
  • Rice flour - 2 tbsp
  • cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - for deep frying

How to make Sarkkara varatti

  1. Peel off the plantain skin and cut each of them into half.
  2. Cut each into 1/2 cm thick piece again and keep it on medium flame.
  3. Add the plantain pieces when the oil becomes hot. Fry on a medium flame, stirring occasionally.

My Tip:

Takes time to deep fry. Set on a medium flame and fry well.
