Ingredients to make Dahi wada

  • For wada
  • urad dal (dhuli)- 200gm
  • moong dal (dhuli)- 50gm
  • ginger- 2 inch
  • Green chilli- 5
  • jeera/cumin seed- 1 tsp
  • Hing/asafoetida- a pinch
  • salt- according to taste
  • oil- for frying
  • yoghurt mix
  • yoghurt/Dahi- 500gm
  • Suger- 2 tbsp
  • Black salt- 1 tsp
  • green chutney
  • Mint/ pudina- 100gm
  • coriander/dhaniya- 100gm
  • ginger- abt 2 inch
  • garlic- 8 to 10 cloves
  • Green chilli- 8
  • jeera/cumin seed- 1 tsp
  • Black salt- abt 1.5 tsp or according to taste
  • mango powder- 2 tsp
  • tamarind chutney
  • tamarind/imli pulp- 200gm
  • Jeggery/gur- 250gm
  • red chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
  • ginger powder- 1 tsp
  • cumin Powder- 1 tsp
  • Black papper- 1/2 tsp
  • pomegranate powder- 1/2 tsp
  • salt- 1 tsp
  • Black salt- 1/2 tsp
  • masala boondi- 100gm
  • Roasted cumin powder- 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • salt- 1 tsp

How to make Dahi wada

  1. Wash and soak both the dals together for at least 5-6 hours or overnight
  2. Grind urad dal, moong dal, green chillies, ginger, hing together into a coarse paste
  3. Take out paste in a large bowl, add salt and cumin into a paste
  4. Beat the mixture for good 5 mins by hand
  5. Take out lemon sized ball and fry in the oil
  6. Take out on kitchen towel
  7. Beat the curd with salt and sugar into thick consistency
  8. Arrange the wada in flat dish and pour curd over it
  9. Let it sit for 30 mins so that wada get soaked in curd
  10. Arrange 4-5 wadas in a serving dish, add curd and both the chutney over it
  11. Sprinkle salt, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder over it
  12. Finally add Boondi and garnish with coriander

My Tip:

*If you don't have mango powder you can add tomato/lemon/raw mango/gooseberry(amla) in mint chutney *Oil should be smoking hot
