Ingredients to make Onion & Coconut chutney !

  • onion - 2 medium sized cut into slices
  • Dry red chilli - 2 to 3 (adjust to taste )
  • Fresh grated coconut - 1 big cup
  • salt to taste
  • Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp (optional )
  • coconut oil - 1 & half tbsp
  • mustard seeds - 1tsp
  • curry leaves - few

How to make Onion & Coconut chutney !

  1. Take a kadai put oil & when hot add the dry red chillies broken into it
  2. Then add the sliced onions and saute well for a few minutes
  3. After that add the grated coconut & fry again for another two minutes
  4. Then turn off the gas
  5. When cool put salt & Kashmiri chilly pwder & grind the ingredients with little water
  6. Pour into a vessel. In a tadka pan put little oil and then add mustard seeds & curry leaves after it splutters pour over the chutney
  7. Enjoy with crisp dosas or idli
