This combination chutney is one of my daughter's favourite :blush:

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Onion - 2 medium sized cut into slices
  2. Dry Red chilli - 2 to 3 (adjust to taste )
  3. Fresh grated coconut - 1 big cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1 tsp (optional )
  6. Coconut oil - 1 & half tbsp
  7. Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  8. Curry leaves - few


  1. Take a kadai put oil & when hot add the dry red chillies broken into it
  2. Then add the sliced onions and saute well for a few minutes
  3. After that add the grated coconut & fry again for another two minutes
  4. Then turn off the gas
  5. When cool put salt & Kashmiri chilly pwder & grind the ingredients with little water
  6. Pour into a vessel. In a tadka pan put little oil and then add mustard seeds & curry leaves after it splutters pour over the chutney
  7. Enjoy with crisp dosas or idli
