ABOUT Coconut Chutney RECIPE

Its a South Indian chutney that goes well with idlis dosa upma bonda etc

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Half kernal of fresh coconut
  2. One Small onion
  3. Half inch piece of ginger
  4. three green chillies
  5. Half cup coriander leaves
  6. salt as per taste
  7. Lime juice one teaspoon
  8. roasted chana half cup
  9. for tempering chutney
  10. two teaspoon oil
  11. Mustard seeds half teaspoon
  12. Pinch of asoefatida
  13. one red whole chilli dried
  14. karipatta leaves 6-8
  15. Half cup water


  1. Clean the coconut and cut into small pieces
  2. add all the ingredients
  3. grind in a mixer with half cup water
  4. grind to a coarse paste
  5. remove
  6. add lime juice
  7. heat oil in pan
  8. add mustard seeds red whole chilli karripatta leaves and asofaetida
  9. crackle and add it to the chutney
  10. serve with idli or dosa
