ABOUT Thai coconut chutney RECIPE

Coconut chutney is a Southern Indian chutney-side-dish and condiment, a common in the Indian subcontinent. The condiment is made with coconut pulp ground with other ingredients such as Dahi, green chillies and coriander. But here I have make the coconut chuntey in different way. I have give thai flavor in this Chutney. Thats why the name of Chutney suits "Thai Coconut chutney" in stead of "coconut chutney"

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1) For Chutney
  2. Fresh grated coconut 1 cup
  3. Coconut milk 1/2 cup
  4. Chopped basil leaves 1/2 tbsp
  5. Chopped mint leaves 1/2 tbsp
  6. Chopped coriender leaves 1/2 tbsp
  7. Chopped Green chili 1-2
  8. Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
  9. salt as per taste
  10. 2) for Tempering/Seasoning
  11. oil
  12. Black mustard seeds
  13. Asafoetida as require
  14. Curry leaves 5-6
  15. Dry red chilli 1-2
  16. Split chickpea lentils (chana dal) 1 tbsp
  17. Sesame Seeds 1/2 tsp


  1. Take the mixture jar and add greated coconut, basil leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves, chillies, ginger paste, Split chickpea lentils (chana dal), and salt as per taste.
  2. Graind all the ingredients well.
  3. Now add the coconut milk as require.
  4. Again Graind it well.
  5. Make sure chutney should be thik in texture.
  6. Take the chutney in one bowl.
  7. For seasoning take one pen.
  8. Heat some oil.
  9. Crackle the black mustard seeds and Split chickpea lentils (chana dal) and sesame seeds.
  10. Add pintch of asafoetida.
  11. Also crackle currey leaves and dry red chillies.
  12. Turn off the flame when chillies changes it color.
  13. Seasoning the chutney.
  14. Serve it with South indean dish.
