A healthy mix of raw banana with crunchy coconut filling

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 6 large raw banana
  2. For Filling
  3. 2 tbsp fresh chopped coriander leaves
  4. 2 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  5. 3 tbsp raisins
  6. 1-2 chopped green chillies
  7. 1 tbsp roasted jeera powder
  8. 2 tsp salt
  9. 2tbsp roasted grated Coconut
  10. For Sauce
  11. 500 ml Yogurt
  12. 1 tsp roasted ground fennel seeds
  13. 1 tsp roasted ground jeera seeds
  14. 1/4 th tsp chilli pd
  15. Salt

Instructions

  1. Boil the plaintains till tender. Drain, cool, peel and mash well. Add salt and keep aside
  2. In a separate bowl and mix all filling ingredients.
  3. Oil palms liberally. Lightly press 1 tbsp of mashed plantain into palm of your hand and make a well in the center and add generous pinch of filling. Close the plantain mixture over stuffing and lightly roll into a ball. Similarly make all the balls.
  4. Deep fry over medium heat till crisp and golden. Remove and drain over kitchen paper.
  5. For Sauce : Mix yogurt with spices and salt and add a little cream.
  6. Pour 1/2 sauce into a serving dish. Place the dumplings on top. Cover with rest of sauce.
