Deep Fried Chicken

Ingredients to make Deep Fried Chicken

  • chicken - 300 grams (Drumsticks and Wings)
  • ginger - 1 inch
  • curd - 2 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chilly powder - 2 tbsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • A pinch of red food colour (optional)
  • salt to taste
  • oil - ½ cup

How to make Deep Fried Chicken

  1. Coarsely ground the ginger and extract the juice of it.
  2. Clean wash the chicken and pad it dry with kitchen towel. Make 1-2 slashes if using drumsticks.
  3. Take the chicken in a bowl. Add the ginger juice, curd, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric, salt and food colour if using.
  4. Mix well and coat the chicken nicely with the marinate and keep aside for atleast 30 mins. The longer marination, the better it will be.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot simmer the flame and drop the chicken in batches and deep fry the chicken in low-medium heat flipping over in between till golden.
  6. Serve as a starter or side dish.
