Masoor Khatti Meethi

Ingredients to make Masoor Khatti Meethi

  • 100 grams whole masoor dal
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 small piece jaggery
  • 1 tspn ginger garlic paste
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tspn garam masala
  • 1 tspn red chilli Kashmiri powder
  • 1/4 tspn turmeric
  • 1 tspn cumin coriander
  • 1 tblspn pure ghee
  • coriander to garnish

How to make Masoor Khatti Meethi

  1. Wash soak masoor for 15 min before making
  2. Chop onion and tomatoes fine
  3. Keep ready all dry masala and heat ghee in pressure cooker
  4. Saute onions golden and add the tomatoes with all seasoning
  5. Add ginger garlic with tomatoes to avoid sticking roast well
  6. Add the piece of jaggery now
  7. Add soaked dal and pressure cook for 15 min
  8. Open cooker after 5 minutes to let the aroma stay
  9. Remove to serve and garnish with coriander

My Tip:

Add less water if soaked more, also if having with roti keep semi liquid consistency
