ABOUT Chana Jor Garam RECIPE

This is a spicy and tangy snack prepared from flatened desi chane(bengal gram/brown chickpeas)

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chane-1 cup
  2. Tomatoes-1 big
  3. Onion-1 big
  4. Green Chilli-1
  5. Spice mix consisting of red chilli powder,garam masala and chaat masala-1 tbsp
  6. Sev-2 tbsp
  7. Lemon juice-2 tsp
  8. Coriander for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak the chana for at least 6 hours.
  2. After 6 hours drain, clean and keep.Boil water and add in Channe to it.Switch off and keep it covered for some time.
  3. After 10 minutes, drain the water and spread Chane on a kitchen towel and pat dry it well.
  4. Now take a grinding stone or pestle and flatten it lightly.
  5. Do not flatten much or it will break.After flattening, it looks like this.
  6. Flatten all chana similarly.
  7. Now either you can deep fry in oil or bake it.I have baked it in microwave for 15 minutes to make it healthy.
  8. Now add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilli, lemon juice,sev, spice mix to these crisp chana jor.
  9. Mix it well garnish with coriander and serve immediately.

Nice one dear. My favorite. Reminds me my childhood travelling i train. We always used to eat during every train journey
